Pinang Peranakan Mansion which acts similar to a museum is located in Georgetown, the capital
of Penang. It is situated at Church Street, right across the Pinang Peranakan Mansion.
The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a showcase or a museum of the legacy of Penang's Baba and Nyonya.
Here, you will have a glimpse of the interesting lifestyle of the Baba and Nyonyas. There are around
1000 pieces of exhibits and antiques displayed. This mansion was originally the home of Kapitan Chung
Kee Kwee. The mansion is a typical home for a rich Baba decades and decades ago. Furthermore, this
mansion is has been used as a background for the popular Singapore series, Little Nyonya in one of
the episodes. The admission fee for adults is RM10 whereas it is free of charge for children who are
under the age of 6. Prior arrangement for conducted tour is advised to obtain more information about
the mansion and background of the Peranakan.
There is another mansion that catches the eyes of tourists. It is the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion.
It is once an ordinary mansion and now, it provides home stay and guided tours. There is a Taiost
temple nearby, namely Kuan Yin Teng Temple. It is always crowded with worshippers and tourists to
pay offerings to the god. Another temple that has a meeting hall is nearby too. It is the
Khoo Kongsi Penang, a clan temple. If you want to catch a glimpse of Indian culture, drop by
Little India Penang. It offers delicious Indian food and traditional clothes. Go to
Gurney Beach Penang to enjoy the breeze and food in the hawker centre, Gurney Drive.
Penang Museum is too, worth a go. It exhibits the culture and heritage of different communities.

From Penang Airport, take a cab to Pinang Peranakan Mansion. The ride takes about
30minutes with a RM38 fare. From Georgetown, you can take a trishaw or even walk to
the Pinang Peranakan Mansion which is situated at Church Street.
