Location

Komtar Complex is located in the city centre - Georgetown, in Penang, Malaysia. Komtar Complex is once the tallest building that dominates the skyline in Malaysia until the construction of Menara Maybank in the state capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur in the year of 1998.

Overview

Komtar is a multipurpose complex and acts as an important role to the citizens of Penang. It consists of transportation hub, administrative offices and not to mention multiple retail outlets. Once the construction of Komtar complex is completed, it dominates the shopping field and is the premier shopping destination for locals as well as tourists. One of the main transportation hubs in Penang is the KOMTAR Bus Terminal. All the bus routes in Penang embark from this very place. There is a nearby mall namely the Pragin Mall. What interesting with both of these malls is that there is a sky bridge that connects both mall and so you can walk to the other mall when you're done with one. It is definitely a dream for all shopaholics, no?

Besides shopping in Komtar Complex, you can have a clearer view from the top of the complex on the amazing Penang Bridge and Butterworth mainland. The view is just breathtaking and spectacular. Other than clothes and goods offered in the complex, restaurants and food courts are available in the complex too. However, most fast food restaurants including McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC as well as local restaurants are to be seen on the ground floor. There are more shopping complex around such as Queensbay Mall(the largest mall in Penang), Pragin Mall and Gurney Plaza< Other then shopping, there are a lot to see in Penang. In Georgetown itself, there are many attractions offered. They include the historical Fort Cornwallis, the unique Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, the famous Kek Lok Si Temple and Kuan Yin Temple, the untouched Penang Hill and many more.

Last but not least, it is a must to dine and taste the local delicacies of Penang. The best place to go for food is none other than the Gurney Drive which located near to Gurney Plaza. There are many delicious local hawker food including the world's famous Penang Assam Laksa, Rojak, Hokkien mee and etc. Thus, if you decided to spend a few nights in this little Island, the best place for your accommodation is in Georgetown as it is close to most of the places of attractions. Transport

It is easy to reach Komtar. You can hail a taxi, take a trishaw ride, rent a car or even embark on public buses. You can catch any buses in order to reach the complex as most buses reach Georgetown via Komtar.
